Microneedling

Microneedling scar treatment at phskin stoke-on-trent

Improving wrinkles and fine lines without any down time is quick and virtually painless with our microneedling pen. This evidence based procedure can give you smoother, firmer, and younger looking skin.

What is Microneedling?

Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, induces collagen production and strengthens the outer layer of skin (epidermis). A pen like device is used to create micro injuries to the skin which triggers the wound healing process and by which produces new collagen (the main structural protein found in skin). Microneedling has no major side effects and can produce beautiful results in a short period of time.

What are the benefits of Microneedling?

Reduces Wrinkles and Fine Lines

When we lose elastin and collagen our skin will become thinner and start to sag. This process causes wrinkles and we start to look visibly aged.  Microneedling will simulate the production of natural collagen and elastin, thus reducing fine lines and wrinkles. Your skin will look younger and more vibrant with no downtime involved. It’s also good to know that compared with other procedures, such as laser, microneedling is less expensive.

Improves Scars

Microneedling is evidence based and is proven to diminish the look of surgery and acne scars. This procedure breaks down old tissue and triggers the production of new elastin and collagen.

Reduces Appearance of Stretch Marks

Stretch marks are extremely difficult to treat and very few cosmetic treatments can improve their appearance. Microneedling, however, has been shown to improve the appearance of stretch marks, especially when combined with other treatments.

Prevents Signs of Ageing

Microneedling effectively and powerfully stops the early signs of aging as well as preventing new wrinkles and fine lines from occurring. When combined with consistent use of corrective antioxidant serums, this procedure aids in brightening your skin that results in a youthful glow. You can’t get that from home treatments or other cosmetic products!

What’s the difference between a microneedling pen & a microneedling roller?

Here at pHskin Cosmetic Clinic you have a choice between microneedling with a roller (a drum like device with numerous specific length needles that gets pushed over the skin) and a microneedling pen (rapid vertical variable length micro needle insertion device). The microneedling pen when compared with the roller is less painful and quicker (no need to apply numbing creams), more adaptable (needle length can be adjusted in one session), and less downtime (less redness). However, the roller can be used to treat more stubborn deeper scars such as those following minor surgery, e.g. scars following removal of cysts.

How else can I benefit from microneedling?

Not only does microneedling induce collagen and elastin it can also be used to deliver active ingredients into the skin. Serums enriched with active ingredients such as hyaluronic acid and peptides are applied to the skin and the microneedling process drives these active products deeper into the dermis where they can activate skin cells and start the work of rejuvenating the skin.
