Training and Education

OK it’s been a while since my last blog and such a lot has happened.

We visited the Private Independent Aesthetic Practices Association (PIAPA) in October last year where we were shown Threadlifting, a non-surgical cosmetic procedure where thin wires are placed in the skin. This treatment helps to combat fine lines and wrinkles, sagging skin, corrects tear troughs (bags under the eyes), and augmenting the jaw line and chin. A very interesting and informative presentation by Dr Jaques Otto.

We also found out about the work being done by NHS - Health Education England (HEE) as they develop a framework of qualifications for aesthetic practitioners in the UK. The framework will provide practitioners with a list of qualifications needed by every aesthetic practitioner delivering non-surgical cosmetic treatments in the UK. This is something we strongly support and are already in the process of ensuring our practice will meet these standards

In January, Pauline attended the ZO Medical training course at Wigmore Pharmacy in London. She was able to add to her knowledge of the ZO Skin Health and ZO Medical range of products. She found the skin anatomy sessions and Obagi classification of skin system very useful and is already applying her knowledge in practice. Clients are already benefiting and seeing improvements in their skin.

We are now able to offer chemical skin peels and microneedling which will expand our range of tools for treating skin conditions such as acne, scarring, stretchmarks and fine lines and wrinkles. The chemical skin peel is proving to be very popular with clients, and the peel we are using, “The Perfect Peel” is extremely popular with aesthetic practitioners all over the UK. No wonder with no prep for weeks before hand and less down time when compared to other peels of this quality.

We had a fantastic trip to the Aesthetic Conference and Exhibition 2015 where we crammed in four training events including:

  • Advanced Injectables Expert Clinic
  • Shaping Safer Practice: how facial analysis and product characteristics influence treatment in the zygomatic and temple areas.
  • World renowned plastic surgeon Dr Arthur Swift demonstrating facial volumisation with dermal fillers.

Oh yes, Pauline also got a face peel when she volunteered to be a model. She does love her face peels!

So as you can see we have been really busy updating and adding to our knowledge and skills.

We are driven to bring you the best cosmetic treatments we can find in the safest environments possible. You deserve nothing less!
